On the afternoon of April 29, 2019, the signing ceremony of the Zibo Campus, jointly established by Zibo Government and Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University, was held in the conference hall on the first floor of Qisheng Hotel in Zibo. The main leaders of the Education Department of Shandong, Zibo Municipal Party Committee,Zibo Government, and Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University and the heads of relevant departments attended the meeting. The signing ceremony was chaired by Gao Qingbo, member of the Standing Committee of Zibo Municipal Committee, Minister of Organization, and Secretary of Education and Work Committee.
The meeting was first addressed by Zhou Lianhua, the Secretary of the Zibo Municipal Party Committee, who welcomed the cooperation of building the Zibo Campus between the Zibo Government andSDAEU, and thanked the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government and the Education Department for their care and leadership. He pointed out thatthe education of SDAEU in Zibo will provide strong intellectual support for Zibo's economic and social development. Zibo will take the opportunity to accelerate the construction of university towns supported byShandong Government, take the construction of the Zibo Campus as a key project, comprehensively implement the content of the agreement, do afine job of planning and construction with high standards and high quality, andmake every effort to ensure the construction of the campus, and strongly support the innovative development of SDAEU.
Wang Xikui,Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, President of SDAEU, delivered a speech on behalf ofthe school. President Wang first expressed his respect and thanks to Shandong Government and Education Department for their long-term care and guidance to the school. He pointed out thatSDAEU is a common undergraduate university hosted by the provincial government. It has 28 undergraduate majors and 20junior college majors, with nearly 13,000 full-time students. Zibo has always attached great importance to culture and education undertakings. Our school will work hard to make good use of its functions in talent training, scientific and technological innovation, and cultural heritage in Zibo. It will work closely with Zibo to restructure according to the needs of Zibo's economic construction and social development, and optimize the discipline and professional layout. Under the guidance of the Education Department,it willfurther deepen the reform of education and teaching, strive to strengthen the content construction, comprehensively implement the task ofcultivating people, continuously improve the level of teaching and scientific research and the quality of personnel training, andcultivate suitable high-quality applied talents for the social and economic development of Zibo, and help Zibo convert its old and new kinetic energy and revitalize the countryside.
Deng Yunfeng, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Education and Work Committee of the Shandong Party Committee,Director of the Education Department of Shandong, and Secretary of the Party Group, first expressed warm congratulations on behalf of the Provincial Committee of Education and Work Committee and the Department of Education to Zibo Municipal Committee, Municipal Government, and Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University! He pointed out that this time the Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University run a school in Zibo is not only a major event in the history of education development in Zibo, but also another leap in the development history of Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University! The cooperation between the two sides in co-building the Zibo Campus fully reflects the firm determination and responsibility of implementing the spirit of General Secretary Jinping's inspection of Shandong's important speeches, and a pragmatic and down-to-earth pragmatic attitude and solid work style. It is hoped that the Zibo Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will implement the contents of the agreement, do agreat job of planning and construction of the new campus with high standards and high quality, provide a good platform for school development, and create a high-quality environment to support the development of Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University in talent introduction, faculty allocation, subjects construction, and transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements. It is hoped that the leaders ofSDAEU will lead all faculty members to seize the opportunity and take advantage of the situation, pay close attention to the development of academic connotation and strive to become a nationally renowned first-class agriculturaluniversity,amplify the effect of co-construction, deepen the integration and development of schools and cities, find a position and make a difference in service, and play a role of “booster” and “think tank” for Zibo's economic and social development.
Finally, Yu Haitian,the Deputy Secretary of the Zibo Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, and Wang Xikui,the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President ofSDAEU, signed a framework agreement on the cooperation of the Zibo Campus on behalf of the Zibo Municipal Government and SDAEU.
